Haute off the press: our Charleston Stitch party invitation, printed in sand ink. The invitation was originally designed for Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, and is named after my “hometown” of Charleston, South Carolina.
One of the fabulous things about digital/flat printing is the opportunity to flood the background of a design with a solid color, and knock out the text (the white is the paper, not white ink). I really love this soft, neutral, romantic color palette for weddings, and hope it doesn’t fade away as a trend too quickly.
Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 6:45AM The leading color trend for 2010 wedding invitations here at the Delphine studio was aubergine purple. About half of the invitation orders we processed this year used some shade of purple. In design trends, our CHRYSANTHEMUMS design was one of the most popular designs this year. Normally I’m not much of a purple-lover, but I really do love the way this aubergine and crocus Chrysanthemums wedding invitation turned out.
Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 7:11AM I designed these calling cards for a friend on the job hunt. I took our NEWPORT STRIPES calling card design, added the initial “M” from our Monogram design, and voila: a chic alternative to boring business cards, perfect for handing out at networking events. These are shown in peacock and sand inks, Monica’s fave colors. Not sure what color to pick for your business cards? Take a peek inside your closet and take note of the color you see most.
Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 6:06AM Our CHRYSANTHEMUMS stickers were designed to work great either as return address stickers or as party favor stickers. I really like how they look in our “bleu” ink.
Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 6:40AM Bonjour, lovely readers. Thought you’d like to see what has been rolling off the press lately: save the date season is starting to heat up. These are two of our newest designs: Candy Shop (top) and Etienne (bottom).

One of our lovely clients, fresh from a trip to Morocco, asked us to design a birthday party invitation inspired by photos from her trip. We worked together to come up with the perfect palette: peacock and marine blue, paired with bright white 100 percent cotton paper. We toyed around with graphics of Fez hats, moroccon slippers and lamps, but decided upon the pitcher as it was the most festive looking. My favorite touch is the patterned liners.

Meeting Street is a the Delphine design most near and dear to my heart, so I was delighted when Kari and Alan ordered custom matches as their wedding party favors in our Meeting Street design. Congrats, you two! Please send wedding photos : )

I'm suuuuper excited to announce that, at long last, after much agonizing over placement of butterflies and foil colors and square vs round "discussions," Custom Party Favors have launched on our Delphine website!
I think the custom party favor bags ... perfect size for a treat like a giant chocolate chip cookie or a donut ... is my favorite new product. Probably becuase they hold the promise of a sugary treat.
Cocktail napkins are a lovely way to introduce a pop of color. Little piles of them on tall bar tables is an easy way to add visual interest to an otherwise dull area, don't you think?
I love getting food treats at weddings ... somehow I'm ALWAYS hungry on the drive home (probably has something to do with the excessive cocktail consumption). And I love the cheesy mix cds. What are your favorite party goodies?

Haute off the press: our new Sunflora "hello" card. It's flat printed. Cute, huh? Not shown here, but it opens up and the same pattern is in the corners of the card. I was trying to recall my grandmother Bea's patio furniture from the late 70s when I designed this. I think her furniture was goldenrod yellow, with a similar pattern.
The card is not up on the site for sale just yet, but let me know if you want to order. Single card: $4; set of 8 cards: $16. Plus shipping.
Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 6:03AM Haute off the press: custom monograms. Pick your favorite letter, ink color, and envelope and we'll print it up for you in no time. Check out the personal stationery custom monogram notes ... and our brand new monogram wedding invitation design here.

Haute off the press: our new chrysanthemums invitation design. Click to see the chrysanthemum invitation letterpress version [or here to see the digital flat printed version]. As always, you can pick your favorite fonts, ink colors, papers, envelopes and preview your order right on our delphine website. The chrysanthemums save the date shown above is letterpressed in aubergine ink on 100 percent cotton paper.
Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10:41AM Do you make New Year's Resolutions? I don't ... but if I did one of mine would be to be better about staying in touch and keeping up with thank you notes. I know, I know, I'm SURROUNDED by cute stationery but still I can't get it together to send out a thank you note in a timely fashion. The card design of ours that I use most is the "Stinky" one since I'm always so late! Here's a dirty little secret: I recently designed an evite for my son's birthday party because I didn't have time to mail out an invitation. For shame!
Having personal stationery, like this sample shown above that some clients ordered of our San Francisco Tile design, makes it easier to tackle the "thank you note" section on your to do list.
Monday, January 4, 2010 at 2:33PM Happy New Year, everyone! Many many thanks for reading my little blog! I am truly thankful for your support, warm wishes and sweet comments. I have some fun things planned for 2010, but I must admit that due to a bad cold over the holidays I am quite behind ... but stay tuned and you'll see some nice improvements to the blog over the next month! Thanks again for all your support, and have a wonderful 2010!
